STOP PRESS - 26 June 2011 21:00
A total of 2288 greyhounds, lurchers and sighthounds walked today as part of the Great British Greyhound Walk, bringing owners together, promoting our beloved hounds as pets and raising awareness and funds for rehoming organisations.
Such a big thank you to everyone who got involved be they participants, walk organisers or part of the coordinating team, none of it would have happened without your enthusiasm and dedication. Photos and feedback will be posted during the week so do call back!
Great British Greyhound Walk 2011
Sunday 26th June
This is the date when there will be walks organised the length and breadth of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
This will be the second Great British Greyhound Walk, the first was held on 20 June 2010. The idea was to have as many greyhounds and lurchers walking together at the same time on the same day up and down the UK. The target was 1000 hounds. That target was smashed! In 44 different locations up and down the country 1641 dogs went walking, bringing groups of like minded owners together, socialising the dogs and raising awareness of greyhounds.
The target for 2011 is 2011 dogs walking ...
... join in and help smash that target!
